Developed by B-Evil and released in 2013 for PC, Mac, and Linux, 99 Levels to Hell is a roguelike platform shooter in which players fight through procedurally generated dungeons across ten distinct floors, each culminating in a boss encounter. Every run produces a new arrangement of levels drawn from a pool of 100, with death ending progress and forcing a fresh start. Players collect from more than 50 weapons and power-ups while battling over 25 enemy types on the way to a final confrontation with the devil, accompanied by a metal soundtrack. Scattered through the dungeons are shops, casinos, portals, and elevators, along with hidden secret rooms that gradually reveal the story of two brothers and unlock additional playable characters for subsequent runs. The game emphasizes replayability through its random level generation and the gradual expansion of the available roster.
