Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy is an arcade-style aerial combat game developed by Project Aces for the Nintendo 3DS, released in 2011. A remake of Ace Combat 2, it places players in the cockpit of customizable fighter aircraft across missions set in the series' established fictional world, rather than the real-world locations featured in the console versions of Assault Horizon. Gameplay can be experienced from a third-person exterior view or a first-person cockpit perspective. True to the earlier entries in the franchise, the design leans heavily toward fast-paced arcade action over strict flight simulation, distinguishing it from its console counterparts. A wide selection of aircraft is available, and players can acquire parts and weapons to upgrade and tailor their chosen fighters. The combination of accessible mechanics and light customization makes it a handheld entry aimed at both series veterans and newcomers.
