Players follow Captain Hastings and detective Hercule Poirot as they investigate a string of killings carried out by an unknown assailant who leaves an ABC railway guide at each crime scene. The trail leads across four locations — Andover, Bexhill, Churston, and Doncaster — each corresponding to the alphabetical pattern of the murders. The central challenge involves gathering evidence and following clues through these successive locations in a race to identify and catch the killer before another crime occurs. The game adapts the novel's structure closely, using its geographic progression as the backbone for its mystery-solving gameplay on the DS hardware.
