All Star Cheer Squad is a cheerleading simulation game developed by Gorilla Systems Corporation and released in 2008 for the Wii and Nintendo DS. Players follow a cheerleader through a full season, learning routines, attending practices, and building skills with the goal of earning a spot on the squad and ultimately rising to team captain. On the Wii, physical input is central to the experience — the Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and optional Balance Board are used to perform cheer movements and dance routines. The game's choreography was developed with input from Tony G, a professional cheerleading choreographer known for his work on the Bring It On film franchise, lending the title a degree of authenticity in its movement design. Players can also create their own custom routines as part of the progression.
