Released in 2006 for PC by Enlight Software Limited, Bad Day L.A. is an adventure game in which players control Anthony Williams, a former Hollywood agent living on the streets of Los Angeles. The city is battered by a cascade of natural and man-made disasters, and Anthony, motivated purely by self-preservation, finds himself reluctantly drawn into saving others. The game frames these events through broad political satire, taking aim at figures and ideologies across the political spectrum. Conceived under the creative direction of American McGee, the title uses its disaster-laden premise as a vehicle for social commentary, positioning its reluctant protagonist as an accidental hero within an exaggerated, chaotic version of contemporary Los Angeles.
