Angry Birds 2 is a puzzle-arcade game developed by Rovio Entertainment and released in 2015 for iOS, Android, and PC. A direct sequel to the original Angry Birds, it carries forward the series' signature slingshot mechanics, in which players launch a roster of birds at structures to eliminate pigs. The game introduces multi-stage levels that extend individual challenges beyond a single assault, requiring players to manage their bird selection across several phases before a level concludes. Boss pigs appear as more demanding targets that punctuate the campaign. The presentation received a significant visual overhaul compared to earlier entries in the franchise, with more detailed environments and destructible scenery. The sequel retains the strategic layer of choosing which bird to deploy and when, while layering in additional complexity through its staged level structure.
After the events of Angry Birds, Chef Pig takes the eggs and puts them in an airship, leaving Red to gather the rest of the flock pursuing him and the rest of the pigs. After Chef Pig is defeated, Foreman Pig takes over the ship in order to prevent the birds from recovering the eggs. Once Foreman Pig is defeated, King Pig commands the airship. This cycle repeats for the entirety of the campaign levels.
