Anito: Defend A Land Enraged is a single-player isometric action RPG developed by Anino Games, a Philippines-based independent studio, released for PC in 2003. Set in the fictional 16th-century Asian island of Maroka, the game places players in a land caught between internal tribal tensions and encroaching armored colonizers seeking to claim the territory for a distant monarch. The story centers on Agila and Maya, the two children of Datu Maktan — the respected leader of the Mangatiwala tribe and the region's foremost peacekeeper — who has suddenly and mysteriously vanished. With his disappearance threatening to unravel the fragile stability he maintained, the siblings must locate their father before the competing factions destroy Maroka entirely. The game is notable as one of the early RPGs produced by a Southeast Asian studio, drawing on regional history and culture for its setting and narrative.
