Anubis II is a third-person platformer developed by Data Design Interactive, released in 2005 for PlayStation 2, PC, and Wii. Set in ancient Egypt, the game follows Anubis, a warrior dispatched by the gods to confront Mumm'hotep, an evil spirit who has plunged Egypt into darkness and afflicted its civilization with a deadly curse. Players navigate nine levels, each requiring them to locate eight pyramids in order to open a portal and complete the stage. Combat relies on two primary tools: a staff used for close-range melee attacks and a lock-on system that fires energy projectiles at enemies. Additional weapons include the Scepter of Ra and Kanopic Bombs of Fury. Despite its name, Anubis II is a standalone title with no predecessor — it is not a sequel to any earlier game.
