Released in 2007 by Atomic Planet Entertainment for the Wii, Arctic Tale is an adventure game based on the nature film of the same name, itself a follow-up to March of the Penguins. Set against the backdrop of climate change and its impact on Arctic ecosystems, the game places players in control of two animals — a polar bear and a walrus — each facing the challenges of survival in a shifting frozen environment. The two animals are handled in separate episodes, each comprising 12 stages set across snowy mountains, unstable ice sheets, and frozen oceans. Both characters have distinct attributes covering speed, stamina, strength, and hunger, all of which fluctuate based on circumstances. Mini-games support survival tasks such as hunting and fending off predators. Throughout, the game incorporates National Geographic-style narration and educational content, delivering environmental information alongside gameplay. Wii motion controls are integrated into the experience.
