Ariana and the Elder Codex is a platformer RPG developed by Hyde, released in 2025 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Players control Ariana, a Librarian tasked with repairing the Seven Hero Codices — ancient tomes that have been corrupted, causing magic to disappear from the world. Using a unique ability to physically enter the Codices, Ariana traverses each book's interior, defeating enemies, overcoming platforming challenges, and restoring Repair Points to earn permanent HP upgrades. Progression unlocks more than 30 magic spells and abilities, which can be arranged across six customizable slots to suit different combat approaches. Each Codex is guarded by a boss with its own attack patterns, demanding both combat precision and platforming skill. Crafting and equipping Magic Items further augments Ariana's stats with effects such as elemental bonuses, critical hit increases, and reduced knockback.
