Art Style: Pictobits is a puzzle game developed by Skip Ltd. and released in 2009 for the Nintendo DSi. Gameplay takes place across both screens: the touch screen displays a field of falling colored blocks, while the top screen hosts a partially revealed image. Players drag colored blocks along the bottom of the touch screen to match and clear groups of the same color falling from above. Clearing blocks contributes those colors to the corresponding image on the top screen, gradually constructing it piece by piece. Certain special blocks cannot be picked up, requiring players to either clear them before they land or maneuver falling blocks on top of them. Blocks dislodged by chain clears drop to the bottom row and become usable. The images players reconstruct are 8-bit renditions of iconic Nintendo characters drawn from NES games, including Mario, Link, and Bowser.
