Ashes Cricket 2009 is a licensed cricket sports game developed by Transmission Games and published in 2009 by Codemasters in the UK and Atari in Australia, available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. A separate Wii version, developed by Gusto Games, was also released, marketed simply as Cricket in Australia. The game holds official licensing from the England and Wales Cricket Board, Cricket Australia, and the Marylebone Cricket Club, the custodians of the Ashes Urn. As a result, the England and Australia squads feature fully licensed real-world players, though other national teams in the game are not officially licensed. The focus is on the historic Test cricket rivalry between England and Australia. A follow-up title, International Cricket 2010, was subsequently released in June 2010.
