Astro Boy: The Video Game is a 2009 platformer developed by High Voltage Software, released for Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. Based on the iconic robot hero, the game follows Astro Boy as he battles President Stone and a robot army threatening Metro City. Players make use of Astro's signature arsenal — including Finger Lasers, an Arm Cannon, Butt Machine Guns, and Drill Attacks — against waves of enemies and large boss encounters set across Metro City and a location called the Surface. Gameplay alternates between ground-based platform sections and airborne combat segments, with Astro's rocket boosters enabling hovering and evasive movement. An intuitive combat system is designed to layer depth over the core action. The game includes unlockable and collectible content such as artwork and alternate Astro Boy versions, and the PlayStation 2 version supports two-player cooperative play.
