BalanCity is a city-building and balance physics game developed by Giant Monkey Robot, released in 2016 for PC, Mac, Linux, and legacy mobile devices. Players construct a growing urban settlement on a tilting platform, stacking residential buildings, offices, power plants, train stations, airports, and landmarks as high as possible while maintaining physical equilibrium and citizen satisfaction. The game draws comparisons to classic SimCity titles and the block-stacking game Jenga, as structural balance is a constant constraint alongside city management. Progress is threatened by disasters including fires, earthquakes, meteor strikes, UFO attacks, and monster invasions. Three distinct modes shape the experience: Free Build offers an open sandbox limited only by gravity; Missions present goal-oriented levels with restricted resources; and Scenarios task players with recreating landmarks from real-world cities before the structure collapses under its own imbalance.
