Balls of Fury is a sports game developed by Black Lantern Studios and released in 2007 for the Wii and Nintendo DS, based on the film of the same name. Players follow Randy Daytona, a washed-up former Ping-Pong prodigy recruited by FBI Agent Rodriguez to infiltrate an underground, illegal table tennis circuit. The mission carries a personal dimension: Randy is also pursuing Feng, a dangerous criminal responsible for his father's death and among the FBI's most wanted. The game centers on this high-stakes, extreme take on Ping-Pong, where matches take place in an unsanctioned and dangerous competitive world rather than conventional sporting venues. The Wii version leverages motion controls suited to the sport's gameplay, while the Nintendo DS offers a portable version of the same premise.
