Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand is the first downloadable expansion pack for Battlefield 3, developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and released in 2011 for PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. The expansion revisits four multiplayer maps originally featured in Battlefield 2 — Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, and Sharqi Peninsula — rebuilding them within the Frostbite 2 engine.
