Second Assault is a downloadable expansion pack for Battlefield 4, developed by EA Digital Illusions CE and released in 2013 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. The pack brings back four fan-favorite multiplayer maps originally featured in Battlefield 3, rebuilding them from the ground up using the Frostbite 3 engine. The redesigned environments take advantage of the upgraded technology while incorporating the new multiplayer mechanics introduced in Battlefield 4. The expansion launched first as a timed exclusive for Xbox One before becoming available on other platforms, and was offered as part of the Battlefield 4 Premium subscription package.
