Battleground Z is a hack-and-slash action game developed by Good-Feel, released in 2015 for the Nintendo 3DS. Players fight through waves of zombies across a series of levels, each with a specific objective to complete. The game integrates the 3DS's StreetPass feature: Mii characters encountered through StreetPass appear within levels, each carrying a distinct weapon — options include a Wii Remote, a bowling ball, and a paintbrush — that comes with a limited pool of chargeable special attacks. Some Miis join as allied fighters rather than simply providing weapons. Taking excessive damage causes the current weapon to be lost, and a level fails entirely if all weapons are forfeited or the primary objective goes unmet; players get three attempts per session. Earning medals — awarded for fulfilling criteria such as completing levels within a time limit — gradually unlocks additional stages.
