Beach Head 2002 is a fixed-position arcade shooter developed by Digital Fusion and released in 2002 for PC, Mac, and arcade platforms. A follow-up to Beach Head 2000, it places the player as a lone defender at an inland command post tasked with repelling waves of enemy forces across continuous day and night cycles, with searchlights and flares illuminating the darkness. Combat spans both ground and air threats, including MB78 battle tanks, APC Fuchs carriers equipped with gun turrets and missile launchers, Cobra attack helicopters, F101 jet fighters, and C-130 transport aircraft. Defensive options include an M60 machine gun, twin-barrel anti-aircraft gun, 75mm anti-tank cannon, and a Gatling gun, all modeled from technical blueprints. B-52 bomber air support is also available. Enemy AI is more capable than in its predecessor, and damage accumulates realistically across vehicles and units throughout each engagement.
