Bloody Roar 4 is a PlayStation 2 fighting game developed by Hudson Soft and released in 2003, marking the final entry in the Bloody Roar series. Set one year after the XGC Incident, the game's story centers on a renewed wave of riots and earthquakes linked to a mysterious artifact known as the Stone Seal. Like its predecessors, the game is built around human-to-beast transformation, but introduces a notable mechanical change: the beast gauge now functions as a secondary health bar, automatically triggering transformation when a character's regular health is depleted. The roster includes 18 playable fighters across several modes — arcade, versus, time attack, survival, and training. A standout addition is the career mode, where completing battles earns DNA points that can be spent on abilities and equipment, allowing character customization transferable to other modes.
