Bomb Jack is a 1984 arcade platformer developed by Tehkan, also released on the PC-9800 Series, in which the player controls a caped superhero with the ability to leap and glide across screen-filling platform layouts. The objective on each stage is to collect all 24 bombs scattered throughout the level before moving on. Five distinct backdrop settings are featured — the Sphinx and Great Pyramids, the Acropolis, Neuschwanstein Castle, and two cityscapes styled after Miami Beach and Hollywood — though these serve purely as visual backgrounds rather than mechanically distinct environments. Each stage presents a unique arrangement of platforms for Jack to navigate, and while the same levels eventually cycle back, they do so at progressively greater difficulty. The core challenge lies in mastering Jack's floating movement to efficiently gather bombs while avoiding enemies.
