Bounder is a top-down arcade platformer developed by Gremlin Graphics and originally released in 1985 for home microcomputers including the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, and MSX. The player controls a tennis ball navigating courses made up of hexagonal tile sections suspended above open ground, scrolling continuously as the ball bounces forward. Movement involves steering the ball around walls and enemies, with contact or falling off the edge costing one of seven lives. Scattered across each course are power squares that propel the ball forward and enable longer jumps, which are essential for progression. Mystery tiles marked with question marks offer unpredictable outcomes — extra lives and bonus jumps, but also instant destruction or a freezing effect that leaves the ball vulnerable to a missile strike. This remastered emulated release bundles both the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC versions, adding save states, modern controller support, full control remapping, and image scaling options.
