Bzzzt is a precision platformer developed almost entirely by a single developer, Karel Matejka (KO.DLL), and released in 2023 for PC, Linux, Mac, and Nintendo Switch. Set in the year 4096, players control ZX8000, a small AI robot created by Doctor Emily and Professor Norbert, on a mission to stop the villainous mad scientist Badbert from carrying out his destructive plans. The game blends jump-dash-run mechanics with pixel art aesthetics inspired by the 1980s tech era, featuring cleverly designed levels set across varied environments with evolving gameplay mechanics. A suite of unlockable skills, multiple difficulty settings ranging from casual to hardcore, and optional permadeath mode give the game considerable depth and replayability.
