Escalation is a 2011 downloadable content pack for Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops, available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It adds five maps across two modes: four competitive multiplayer arenas and one cooperative zombie map. The multiplayer offerings span an abandoned Soviet zoo, a Cuban resort hotel, a Russian village concealing a weapons cache, and a site near a derelict convoy carrying a large missile. The zombie map, Call of the Dead, shifts the action to an abandoned Siberian coastal outpost. Together, the five maps expand the base game's shooter experience with a range of environments drawn from Cold War-era settings, mixing close-quarters and mid-range combat scenarios across the multiplayer selections while the zombie map continues the cooperative survival format established in Black Ops.

Storyline

Escalation contains 5 all-new maps; featuring 4 Multiplayer maps and an epic, star-studded Zombies experience with new playable characters. Battle it out in 'Hotel' on the roof of a luxury hotel & casino in old Havana; 'Convoy' delivers close-quarters combat near an ambushed US military convoy; 'Zoo' takes you on a wild ride in an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo; 'Stockpile' is set in a Russian farm town housing secret WMDs. For Zombies fans, “Call of the Dead” features a cast of iconic horror film stars battling zombies on a Siberian island.
