Awakening is the first downloadable content pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops III, developed by Treyarch and released in 2016 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. The pack expands the base game with four additional multiplayer maps: Skyjacked, a redesigned version of Hijacked from Black Ops II; Gauntlet; Splash; and Rise. Alongside the multiplayer content, Awakening introduces Der Eisendrache, the fourth episode in the Zombies cooperative mode. Der Eisendrache serves as the opening chapter of a larger time-travel narrative within the Zombies storyline. The pack is oriented toward players seeking new competitive arenas and continued progression through the Zombies episodic content, offering a mix of reimagined and entirely new settings across both modes.

Storyline

The latest installment of Zombies picks up where The Giant left off, as the Origins characters head to Der Eisendrache on a mission to stop the zombie apocalypse.
