Carcassonne is a digital adaptation of the classic German board game, developed by Sierra Entertainment and released in 2007 for Xbox 360. The game begins with a single terrain tile face up and 71 remaining tiles drawn one at a time over the course of play. Each turn, a player places a newly drawn tile adjacent to existing ones, observing strict adjacency rules: roads must connect to roads, cities to cities, and fields to fields. After placing a tile, the active player may station a follower on one of its features to stake a claim. Followers cannot be placed on features already claimed by an opponent, though later tile placements can merge separately claimed features into shared ones, complicating ownership. When all tiles have been placed, points are tallied based on which players have the most followers on each completed and incomplete feature, and the highest score wins.
