Released by Accolade in 1988 for the Commodore C64/128/MAX, Card Sharks is a card game compilation offering three distinct games: poker, hearts, and blackjack. The poker mode is further divided into three variants — five-card draw, seven-card stud, and hold'em — giving that game type considerable depth on its own. Up to three players can compete simultaneously, chosen from a roster of six opponents that includes satirical takes on public figures such as Ronald Reagan, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Margaret Thatcher. Regardless of the chosen game, the core objective remains consistent across all modes: each participant begins with a fixed sum of money, and the winner is whoever succeeds in claiming all of their opponents' funds. The variety of rule sets and the recognizable cast of characters give the package a light, casual appeal suited to short sessions.
