Choo-Choo Charles is a third-person shooter and adventure game developed by Two Star Games, released in 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The central antagonist is Charles, a predatory sentient train that hunts the player across a large open environment of winding tracks. Players travel the island aboard their own aging locomotive, planning missions carefully and staying alert whenever they disembark on foot or redirect track switches, as Charles can ambush at any moment. Collecting scrap materials — through looting or completing missions — allows the player to upgrade their train with improved weapons and defenses. Assisting local settlers rewards the player with powerful armaments and other useful items. The main questline builds toward a final confrontation in which the player summons Charles to a decisive duel, putting all accumulated firepower, upgrades, and skill to the ultimate test.
In Choo-Choo Charles you're given the task of eradicating a monster known by the locals as "Charles". Nobody knows where he came from, but they know why; to eat the flesh of puny humans. You have a small yellow train, with a map, mounted machine gun, and an exquisite collection of bobble-heads on the dashboard. You'll use this train to get from place to place, while you complete missions for the townspeople, or loot scraps from around the island. Over time you’ll use your scraps to upgrade your train’s speed, armor, and damage. You’ll grow your arsenal, and (hopefully) become an unstoppable force, ready to take on the great and mighty Charles.
