City of Heroes is a superhero-themed massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Paragon Studios and released for PC in April 2004, later expanding to Mac. Players create and customize superheroes, engaging in cooperative missions across a persistent urban world. In April 2019, leaked server source code circulated publicly, enabling independent servers to emerge outside NCSoft's control and reigniting interest in the title years after its closure.
