City Tales: Medieval Era is a medieval city-building simulator developed by Irregular Shapes, scheduled for release on PC in 2026. Players take the role of a settlement leader responsible for constructing and managing a growing kingdom across one of several available maps. A core feature is the district zoning system, which allows cities to expand organically rather than conform to rigid grid layouts, with each district developing according to the needs and preferences of its residents — some populations favoring taverns, others churches or quieter spaces. The game includes an economy layer that requires balancing resources and production decisions as the city scales. Nine companion characters assist the player, each assignable to key production roles where they develop skills over time and contribute bonuses. Companions also carry their own missions, adding narrative depth alongside the building gameplay. Visually, the game employs a hand-painted aesthetic and supports cosmetic customization of buildings, streets, and select structures. The overall design targets a measured, unhurried pace.
