College Slam is an arcade basketball game developed by Iguana Entertainment and released in 1996 for Super Nintendo, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, and DOS. Part of the NBA Jam series, it shifts the focus to collegiate athletics, offering a roster of more than 40 real college teams. Matches are played two-on-two with fast-paced action that includes exaggerated dunks capable of shattering the backboard, power-ups, and other over-the-top moves characteristic of the series. Outside of individual head-to-head matchups, the game supports tournament and full season play modes. Each represented school is accompanied by its actual fight song, adding a layer of authenticity to the otherwise heightened arcade experience.
