Colt Canyon is a 2D pixel art roguelite shooter developed by Retrific and released in 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The player controls a cowboy — or one of numerous unlockable characters — navigating randomized canyon levels to rescue a kidnapped partner from hostile bandits. Armed with revolvers, TNT, and a pool of over 100 collectible weapons, players push through enemy-filled environments that reward both tactical stealth and aggressive action. Rescuing additional captives along the way adds further objectives, and reaching the partner does not end the run — the character must also make it back out alive. Progression is built around unlockable characters, starting loadouts, and upgrades, with optional permadeath and adjustable difficulty offering flexibility. The game supports local co-op and AI companions, and a looping structure allows runs to continue indefinitely. Retrific developed the title solo.
