Conflict: Desert Storm II: Back to Baghdad is a squad-based tactical shooter developed by Pivotal Games and released in 2003 for Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube, and PC. Players command a four-person special operations unit drawn from either the British SAS or US Delta Force, with each team member filling a distinct role: Team Leader, Sniper, Heavy Weapons Specialist, or Combat Engineer. Across 15 missions set in urban, desert, and indoor environments, the objective is to eliminate enemy targets, disrupt supply lines, and destabilize communications infrastructure. Tactical options include calling in air strikes and commandeering vehicles. The game features multiple route options through each mission, a progression system that improves individual operatives as missions are completed, and physics and ballistic modeling intended to reflect real combat conditions. Enemy and squad behavior is governed by AI systems designed to produce dynamic engagements throughout the campaign.
