Creaks is a puzzle-platformer developed by Amanita Design, the studio behind Machinarium and Samorost, released in 2020 for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. The game follows a protagonist who discovers something strange lurking behind the walls of his room and descends into a vast mansion populated by bird-like inhabitants and furniture that transforms into dangerous creatures. Navigating this underground world requires manipulating those creatures to solve dozens of hand-crafted puzzles, while optional exploration rewards players with hidden paintings and gradually reveals the mansion's central mystery. The game is distinguished by its entirely hand-painted artwork, precisely crafted animation, and an original soundtrack composed by Hidden Orchestra. There are no time limits or pressure mechanics — players progress through puzzles at their own pace.
