Cricket 2005 is a sports simulation developed by HB Studios and released in 2005 for Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC. The game reproduces professional cricket with a full roster of real player names, a distinction that makes it the final entry in its series to feature authentic naming throughout. Three region-specific cover editions were produced to reflect different markets: Australian packaging featured wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist, the New Zealand edition spotlighted spinner Daniel Vettori, and the English release was fronted by all-rounder Andrew Flintoff. The regional approach reflected the game's attempt to connect with cricket audiences across the sport's major playing nations, tailoring its presentation to local fanbases while offering a shared underlying simulation of the sport.
