Based on the 2000 martial arts film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a fighting-adventure game developed by Bergsala Lightweight and released in 2003 for Xbox and PlayStation 2. The narrative is divided into three separate story paths, each following a different character from the source material. Combat is rooted in the Wudan martial arts style depicted in the film, incorporating basic strikes, combo chains, and special moves alongside defensive options including blocking, combo blocking, and evasion. A progression system ties character development directly to fighting behavior — relying on specific attack types, such as unarmed combat, strengthens the corresponding skill sets, which can then be leveled up over time. As characters fight through the game's stages, they also collect items and earn rewards, gradually expanding their move sets and capabilities throughout each of the three story campaigns.
