Crymachina is an action RPG developed by Aquria, released in 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the game follows a young woman named Leben Distel who, near death from a mysterious illness, awakens in a dark future realm called Eden — a structure where machines labor toward the goal of restoring humanity by creating "Real Humans." Guided by an android named Enoa, Leben joins two other synthetic beings, Mikoto and Ami, as the three navigate what it truly means to be human. Gameplay alternates between combat encounters within Eden, where players battle mechanical enemies using customizable weapons and fast-paced tactics, and quieter moments in the Imitation Garden, a home base where characters interact and equipment can be adjusted. The narrative centers on themes of identity, love, and perseverance as these artificial beings confront their circumstances and struggle toward an uncertain fate.
In modern times, a strange disease runs rampant. A young girl named Lebel Distel who teeters on the brink of death hears a mysterious voice–”You have been chosen.” Though taken by darkness, Leben awakens to find herself in a dark, post-apocalyptic world and is greeted by an android named Enoa. Leben finds herself in Eden, the Propagation Plant, where machines continue to operate with the goal of creating “Real Humans” to restore humanity. Guided by Enoa, Leben becomes entangled in the battle to become a “Real Human.”
