Dance Central 2 is a Kinect-based rhythm game developed by Harmonix Music Systems for Xbox 360, released in 2011. Players perform choreographed dance moves in front of the Kinect sensor, which tracks body movement and awards points based on accuracy. Difficulty levels scale up the complexity of routines while tightening the tolerance for imprecision. The sequel introduces several additions over its predecessor, most notably simultaneous two-player support across cooperative and competitive modes, with drop-in/drop-out functionality allowing a second player to join at any time. Voice control is integrated throughout the interface. A campaign mode structures progression around dance crews representing distinct styles. The "Break it Down" practice system has been expanded to let players isolate and rehearse individual moves within a routine, and a dedicated fitness mode offers more detailed tracking and customization than the original game provided.
