Developed by M2 and published by Taito, Darius Cozmic Collection is a 2019 compilation of classic arcade titles from the long-running Darius side-scrolling shoot 'em up series, released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The standard edition brings together four arcade entries: the original Darius, Darius II, Sagaia (the overseas version of Darius II), and Darius Gaiden. Each title preserves the series' signature horizontal shooting gameplay, in which players pilot spacecraft through stages populated by mechanical sea creature-themed enemies. The collection was announced by Taito in July 2018 and serves as a curated preservation of the franchise's arcade legacy, giving players access to multiple entries from different periods of the series in a single package. M2, a studio well known for its work on arcade and retro game ports, handled the development.
