Released in March 2017, The Ringed City is the second and final downloadable expansion for FromSoftware's Dark Souls III, available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Set at the very edge of the world during the dying embers of the Age of Fire, the expansion introduces a new region steeped in decay and ruin. Players traverse fresh environments populated by new enemy types and confront several new bosses while uncovering additional layers of the series' signature oblique lore. The expansion deepens the recurring thematic preoccupation with cycles of collapse and renewal that runs throughout the Dark Souls universe. Alongside the new areas, it adds a suite of weapons, armor pieces, and spells, broadening build options for both new and returning characters. The Ringed City serves as the narrative and mechanical conclusion to the Dark Souls III expansion content.
