Death Come True is a full-motion video adventure game developed by Too Kyo Games and released in 2020, available across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android. Directed by Kazutaka Kodaka, creator of the Danganronpa series, the game unfolds entirely in live-action footage. When Makoto dies, he possesses the ability to leap back in time, allowing players to revisit branching decision points and pursue different outcomes. The cast includes Kanata Hongo, Chiaki Kuriyama, Win Morisaki, and Yuki Kaji. A secondary collectible system called Death Medals rewards players for encountering each distinct death scenario, with collected medals unlocking bonus video clips.
In a hotel room, there is a man lying on the bed. He wakes up to the piercing sound of the phone ringing. Picking up the phone, he hears a message from the hotel concierge, “If you have any trouble, please visit the front desk.” The man doesn’t even know why he is in the hotel. In fact, he doesn’t remember anything at all. As he begins to look around, he suddenly finds a woman tied up and unconscious. The evening news on the TV shows the figure of a man who is wanted as a serial killer. Then comes the sound of knocking on the door.
