System Rift is a 2016 story-focused downloadable content expansion for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, developed by Eidos Montréal and released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. Set within the Deus Ex universe's augmented-human thriller framework, the expansion tasks protagonist Adam Jensen with infiltrating the Palisade Blade, a highly secure data storage facility, to uncover the secrets concealed within it. As a role-playing game, the experience carries forward the core mechanics of the base game, blending stealth, combat, and augmentation-driven problem solving within a self-contained narrative arc. System Rift serves as the first story add-on for Mankind Divided, offering players a discrete mission structure separate from the main campaign while expanding on the broader conspiratorial lore that defines the series.
Re-unite with Frank Pritchard, Adam’s friend and former colleague at Sarif Industries, and assist him in hunting down information on the mysterious Santeau Group. Desperate to get more information, Pritchard targets one of the most secure data banks ever created – the Palisade Blade. In agreeing to help, Adam may also be able to uncover hints as to who the Illuminati really are.
