Released in 1991 by Opera House for the Sega Game Gear, Devilish is an arcade title that blends breakout-style paddle mechanics with vertical scrolling action. The premise follows a prince and princess transformed into stone paddles by a demon, who must use a conjured ball to reclaim their kingdom. Players control two paddles simultaneously — the lower one keeps the ball in play while the upper one is directed at enemies and destructible blocks above. Clearing each stage of demons and obstacles leads to a boss encounter. The constantly scrolling screen maintains forward momentum, creating a more demanding experience than traditional brick-breaking games like Arkanoid. The Game Gear version offers three difficulty settings and a time trial mode, though the two-player cooperative option found in the Sega Mega Drive release is absent from this handheld edition.
