Return to Ostagar is a downloadable content expansion for Dragon Age: Origins, developed by BioWare and released in 2010 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac. Set after the catastrophic battle that devastated the Grey Wardens and claimed the lives of King Cailan and the Warden's mentor Duncan, the expansion sends players back to the ruins of Ostagar. A fellow survivor of the battle has reportedly escaped captivity and is seeking aid from the Grey Wardens, providing the impetus for the return. The content revisits the iconic location from early in the main game, this time as a site of darkspawn conflict and unfinished business. Players engage enemy forces as they uncover what remains in the aftermath of the disastrous engagement that opened the base game's central conflict.
