Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II is an action RPG developed by Webfoot Technologies and released for Game Boy Advance in 2003. Picking up where its predecessor ended, the game covers the Android and Cell Games sagas, concluding with Gohan's defeat of the android Cell. Despite the title, Goku is actually the least playable character in the cast. The game introduced several mechanics absent from the original, including character transformations that temporarily boost combat power at the expense of a draining energy meter, and charged melee attacks that require a brief buildup before delivering a powerful strike. A scouter feature lets players view the stats and background information of other characters. Collectible capsules scattered across the game world provide further stat upgrades. A Japanese-exclusive version, Legacy of Goku II International, followed in 2004, featuring revised character artwork and Japanese name localizations.
The plot of the game picks up where The Legacy of Goku left off, and continues until the end of the Cell Games Saga when Gohan defeats the evil android Cell.
