Dun Darach is a 1985 adventure and arcade game developed by Gargoyle Games for the ZX Spectrum and Amstrad CPC, serving as a prequel to the studio's earlier title Tir Na Nog. The player controls Cuchulainn of Muirmethne, a figure from Celtic mythology, as he navigates the sprawling fortress of Dun Darach in pursuit of his kidnapped companion Loeg. The game blends fighting, puzzle-solving, and exploration across the interior of the fortress, requiring the player to work through its challenges in order to secure Loeg's release. As with its predecessor, the game draws on Irish legend for its setting and characters, grounding its mechanics within a mythological framework that distinguished Gargoyle Games' output during this period of early home computer software.
