Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space is a third-person shooter developed by Klein Computer Entertainment, released in 2014 for PlayStation Vita. The game is a remake of Earth Defense Force 2 Portable, itself a PSP port of the PlayStation 2 title known in Europe as Global Defence Force — a release that never reached North America on that platform. Players take on waves of alien invaders as part of the Earth Defense Force, choosing from multiple soldier classes including the newly added Air Raider, which was not present in earlier versions of the game. The remake also features a new English voice dub recorded specifically for this release. Multiplayer is supported through four-player online cooperative play, allowing groups to tackle the game's missions together. The title brings a previously inaccessible entry in the series to Western audiences in an expanded and updated form.
