Epic Mickey

Epic Mickey is a platform-adventure game developed by Junction Point Studios, released in 2010 exclusively for the Wii. Players control Mickey Mouse after he is transported to the Wasteland, an alternate dimension populated by forgotten Disney creations. The central mechanic revolves around two opposing tools — paint and paint thinner — which Mickey uses to reshape the environment in meaningful ways. Applying paint can restore or create elements of the world, while paint thinner dissolves them, giving players a degree of creative control over how levels are constructed and how the story progresses. These choices influence Mickey's character development across the course of the adventure. The game draws heavily on Disney history, using discarded and obscure concepts from the studio's past as the foundation for its world-building, lending the setting an unusual tone that balances nostalgia with darker, more atmospheric surroundings.
