Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is a tactical role-playing game developed by Compile Heart, released in 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Set in a world scarred by an ancient conflict between a Goddess and a Vile God, the game follows Fang, a Fencer capable of wielding magical weapons called Furies that are bound to fairy spirits. His ongoing quest to collect Furies and resurrect the Goddess takes a new turn when he encounters two women called Muses, one whose song heals allies and another whose song bends minds. Combat uses a newly introduced tactical RPG battle system in which terrain and environmental objects affect evasion, movement, and other stats. The returning Avalanche Attack and Fairize mechanics are joined by Muse abilities that apply area-of-effect buffs. A location-based world-shaping system lets players stab Furies into map points to uncover hidden areas, items, and fairies. The story branches across multiple routes.
