Fairytale Fights is a hack-and-slash platformer developed by Playlogic Entertainment and released in 2009 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, built on Unreal Engine 3. The game takes well-known fairytale characters and settings and reinterprets them through a lens of graphic, cartoonish violence inspired by properties like Happy Tree Friends and Itchy and Scratchy. Players battle through large numbers of enemies in service of restoring their chosen character's honor and returning stability to the fairytale world. The visual style is brightly colored and stylized, contrasting the violent combat with a deliberately cheerful aesthetic. Beyond the main single-player campaign, which supports cooperative play, the game includes a competitive multiplayer mode accommodating up to four players either locally or online. The combination of familiar storybook imagery with chaotic, over-the-top brawling defines the game's central identity.
